Wine:

The 2022 red Beaune 1er Cru Les Sizies is truly enchanting. Its very pure nose opens up with notes of stone fruits, reflecting the vintage's perfect ripeness, alongside well-integrated oak. The palate follows this ripe profile, with a substantial, fleshy texture, and present tannins that will refine over time. A bit more patience is needed, but the reward is assured. Rated 93/100 by the Committee.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, traditional vinification in open vats, with punching down and pumping over as required.
Aged for an average of 12 months.

Color:

An intense red with vermilion highlights.

Nose:

Notes of pit fruit underlined by an intense oakiness.

Palate:

Full-bodied and beautifully ripe, this cuvée deserves patience, offering a juice of fine relief, with tannins that are present but just waiting to be refined!

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Roast partridge with chanterelles, seven o'clock lamb, forest terrines.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2032.

At Domaine de la Galopière, the Fournier family meticulously crafts still very affordable cuvées. To our greatest delight, especially since the care provided here enables the creation of straightforward cuvées with great aging potential, in the pure Burgundian tradition.
