Wine:

Born from a sun-drenched terroir of Vosges sandstone at an altitude of around 400 meters, the 2020 white Alsace Grand Cru Kessler HW Riesling Élément Feu reveals a unique character. This cuvée, historically vinified separately, is subtle and precise, opening with delicate floral and nuanced mineral notes. The palate is magnificent—powerful and expansive, yet both deep and penetrating—with an exceptional length featuring menthol, saline, and aniseed notes, along with fine mineral bitterness that adds a fascinating energy. A truly grand Riesling, driven by the density of its old vines and the power of its fiery terroir. Rated 97/100 by RVF and awarded the Coup de Cœur by the Selection Committee with a score of 96/100.

Vinification:

Hand harvested from vines around 32 years old. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats and century-old tuns. Aged on the lees in vats for 11 months.
Residual sugar: 5.36g/L

Color:

Bright, light golden yellow.

Nose:

Intense, precise aromas with hints of apple, mineral and floral notes.

A magnificent palate, both powerful and mineral, with a lovely dimension and long, full-bodied persistence, on a slightly saline finish.

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

From now until 2034

Recognized with 3 stars by the Revue du Vin de France, Domaine Dirler-Cadé has truly established itself as a master of Alsace. Since 1998, Ludivine and Jean Dirler have nurtured their biodynamic vineyard with dedication and passion, creating outstanding cuvées. Regardless of the grape variety, the precision of their wines is evident: an impressive range of exceptional dry whites, culminating in the magnificent grand cru expressions of Spiegel, Saering, Kessler, and Kitterlé.
