Wine:

From a parcel acquired in 2017 with full southern exposure, right next to the Engelberg terroir, the 2022 Red Alsace Pinot Noir Hüt is a model of finely textured Pinot Noir, offering consistency, volume, and beautiful delicacy. It presents a sun-kissed style without excess—a refined and precise profile with notes of stone fruits, plenty of freshness, fine tannins, and well-ripened juice. Everything you expect from this grape variety at its best! Rated 93/100 by RVF and 92/100 by the Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Hand harvested on September 19, 2022. Pumping over and punching of the cap during a total vatting period of 18 days. Malolactic fermentation and ageing in 1-3 wine oak barrels for 15 months. Massing and bottling in March 2024.
Plot from the Huette locality, pronounced "hüt" in Alsatian, on the southern slope of the Scharrach, right next to the Engelberg Grand Cru.

Certified organic wine.

Color:

An intense red.

Nose:

Dominant pit fruit notes, with a marked, but not excessive, sunny style.

Palate:

Refined and precise, this wine's palate is ripe, taut and fresh, with delicate tannins, consistency, volume and delicacy.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16° C in a large glass.

Food and wine pairing:

Rack of veal with chanterelle mushrooms, herb-crusted entrecôte of beef, rosemary-roasted guinea fowl, aged Saint-Nectaire fermier cheese.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2027, and even longer for enthusiasts.
