French cutlery artisan, Atelier Perceval, crafts and sells high-quality table knives, pocket knives, and kitchen knives. Based in Thiers, the historical capital of French cutlery, their knives are steeped in the tradition and expertise of this renowned region. Perceval knives are more than just dining accessories; they elevate both your table setting and your dishes.
The story begins with Emmanuel Chavassieux, a cutlery artisan in Thiers, who created and sold unique knives inspired by his creativity. One day, he met Eric Perceval, and together they founded what is now Atelier Perceval. Their adventure began in 1996.
In 2005, Yves Charles, a Michelin-starred Parisian chef, decided to create a table knife for his restaurant. He turned to Atelier Perceval to bring his vision to life. The result of this collaboration was the 9.47, which quickly became a success. This knife is named after a sulfite-free wine produced by Stéphane Majeune, with an alcohol content of 9.47°.
Perceval knives have since garnered significant acclaim among chefs and international clients. Their first export markets were Germany and Japan, two countries with a strong appreciation for fine blades.
In March 2022, Félix Poché took over the leadership of Atelier Perceval, bringing a fresh perspective to the company. Committed to showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship of their artisans, he also embodies a new image and revitalized spirit for the business.
