Wine:

Rich and concentrated, the 2022 Red Chinon Vieilles Vignes benefits from at least an hour of decanting to fully release its aromas. A hint of oak complements the defined dark fruit and subtle graphite note typical of Cabernet. The palate is firmly structured yet avoids any signs of the vintage's warmth, remaining dense and refined with textured tannins that promise longevity. It finishes with impressive freshness and power, suggesting great aging potential for the next 10 years. Rated 94/100 by the Selection Committee and 95/100 by the RVF.

Vinification:

Hand harvested, vines aged between 70 and 90 years, matured for 6 months in casks (no new casks) and 12 months in concrete vats.

Color:

Intense, brilliant crimson-carmine red.

Nose:

The initial nose reveals concentrated aromas of ripe blackberry and blackcurrant, with a hint of oak. After some aeration, graphite notes from the Cabernet Franc emerge.

Palate:

The wine has a refined, structured texture, with pronounced tannins that promise excellent aging potential. A great wine in the making!

Temperature:

Decant before serving between 14 and 16°C.
