The 2022 red Saumur from Clos de l'Ecotard showcases the quintessential qualities of Cabernet Franc. This well-balanced wine is expertly blended from three plots, each with its unique soil - sandy, limestone, and north-facing. Its winemaking approach, focusing on brief maceration, succeeds in extracting delicate tannins and lively, crisp flavors. The result is a wine with a clean, fruit-forward profile, slight smoothness, and a harmonious structure. The partial aging in older barrels for a mere five months, along with the inclusion of a small amount from a sandstone jar, adds a subtle complexity. The cuvée highlights the delicate tannins and appealing taste of Cabernet Franc, making the 2022 red Saumur a delightful and well-rounded experience.Vinification:
Hand-harvested, vines aged between 50 and 60 years, blend of 3 parcels in Fosse-Bellay and Courchamps, short 20-day maceration, little extraction, aged for 5 months, 67% in vats, 30% in barrels and 3% in sandstone jars.Parcels in organic conversion.
