Wine:

With its bright, expressive aromas, the 2021 IGP Collines Rhodaniennes Les Lézardes Red is a pure, beautifully crafted Syrah from the estate’s young vines. Bursting with notes of red and black berries, gentle spice, and a supple, juicy texture, it’s framed by fine, silky tannins. A pleasure to drink now, with the structure to evolve gracefully over the next few years.

Vinification:

Hand harvested from young vines on the estate, approximately 60% of the grapes are partially destemmed, fermented in stainless steel vats for 4 to 5 weeks with regular pumping over, aged for just under 11 months in demi-muids, 5 to 10% of which are new.

Color:

Bright red of good intensity.

Nose:

Red and black fruit aromas emphasised with spicy touches.

Palate:

Lush and fresh, with vibrant fruit, this cuvée offers a medium-bodied wine supported by firm yet already enjoyable tannins on the palate.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Red meat, a nice piece of grilled beef, flank steak with shallots, pigeon pastilla, tandoori chicken, roast duck with chanterelles, lamb tagine, game in sauce.

Cellar aging:

From today until 2029, and even longer for enthusiasts.
