Wine:

A blend of two parcels from the Chavaroche lieu-dit, the 2022 Red Côte-Rôtie La Chavarine remains a benchmark for the appellation, regardless of the vintage. Once again, it is an undeniable success, built around aromas of finely structured, perfectly ripe fruit. The palate follows suit with precision and balance, where every element is in harmony. This is Syrah at its finest—elegant, poised, and both ripe and fresh. A wine to cellar for 15 to 20 years. The Selection Committee’s favourite, rated 93/100.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. 100% de-stemming. Maceration for 21 days in temperature-controlled vats, with regular pumping-over. Aged for 22 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new. Light filtration before bottling.
Lieu-dit: Chavaroche, 2 plots vinified separately and blended for bottling. Vines planted in 1982 and 2013. Soil: Micaschist 70% and Loess 30% (limestone).

Color:

A lovely violet colour.

Food and wine pairing:

Grand Veneur fillet of venison, tournedos of beef Rossini, rib of beef on the grill.
