AWARDS

A vintage rated 94/100 by our Committee!

Wine:

With outstanding ripeness and driven by 90% Merlot, the 2020 Red Saint-Émilion Grand Cru captures everything we love about the Right Bank at its best. Silky tannins, a seamless texture, and perfectly judged barrel aging all come together to create a beautifully balanced wine. Black fruit aromas, warm spices, and hints of mocha unfold with harmony, flowing through a precise, velvety, and refreshingly vibrant palate. A brilliant expression of its clay-limestone terroir — rated 94/100 by Olivier Poussier, Best Sommelier in the World, and our Selection Committee.

Vinification:

Manual harvesting from 21 to 22 September 2020, vatting for 21 days, ageing in barrels used for one wine (50%), in barrels used for two wines (35%) and in amphorae (15%).
Bottling in June 2022.

Certified organic wine.

Color:

A garnet of great intensity.

Nose:

Aromas of dark fruit, spices and mocha.

Palate:

The palate is silky and focused, with a fresh, flowing texture supported by refined, well-rounded tannins. The oak aging is discreet, adding just enough depth to enhance the wine without taking over.

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Grilled pork spider crab, Charolais beef rib steak, pork filet mignon.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2035 and beyond for enthusiasts

Between Troplong Mondot and La Mondotte lies one of Saint-Émilion’s best-kept secrets: Château Bellisle Mondotte. Just 5 hectares in size and organically farmed, this small estate is treated with the care of a private garden.

Set on the slopes above the famed Pavie hillside, it produces Merlot-driven wines full of elegance and depth. Aged in barrels — with a third being new — the oak brings structure and smoothness, while letting the fruit and freshness shine through.
