The 2022 Red Côte-Rôtie Coteau de Bassenon showcases the captivating aromas of Syrah, blending black fruit, spices, and subtle smoky notes with remarkable purity. The oak presence complements the fresh, precise aromas on the nose without overpowering them. The palate reveals exceptional density, with a tightly knit core supported by oak that promises to integrate harmoniously over time. This is a wine of outstanding freshness and minerality, with a structure built for aging 10 years or more. Awarded 94-95/100 by the Selection Committee.Vinification:
Hand harvested. Plot of 66 ares of old vines on the ‘Coteau de Bassenon’ in the commune of Tupin Semons. 60% destemmed. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats for around 4 weeks, with daily pumping over and punching down during alcoholic fermentation. Aged for 18 months in barrels, 20% of which are new.Color:
