Wine:
All in suppleness and delicacy, the 2013 red Saint-Estephe Chateau Montrose is now ready. Equipped from the start with a beautiful potential for evolution, it deploys beautiful energy and momentum without the usual rigidity of the vintage, especially after this small decade of aging and a fresh and half-powerful vintage. A very nice reading of the vintage and the terroir of Saint-Estephe, already accessible. Rated 94-95/100 RVF.Vinification:
Hand harvested from September 26 to October 16. Manual and optical sorting of the berries in order to keep perfectly ripe and healthy grapes. Traditional vinification, malolactic fermentation in vats. Aged for 19 months in barrels, 50% of which are new.Color:
Clear and bright ruby-red.Nose:
Fresh and subtle, marked by raspberry aromas, underlined by toasted and mentholated notes.Palate:
On a lively and powerful first taste, this wine reveals a nice balance with a hint of licorice on soft and silky tannins.

Icon of the Saint-Estèphe appellation, the Château Montrose is one of the most sought-after signatures of the region. The change of course and ambition instilled by Martin Bouygues immediately raised the bar of this already well-established estate, granting it a new state-of-the-art cellar and an elite team, led by Hervé Berland, former Mouton-Rothschild director.
The terroir has reacted quickly to these Formula 1 adjustments and has been producing some of the finest wines in the history of the cru for several years now.
