Wine:

Covering just under one hectare of very rocky soils with minimal new oak, the 2020 Red Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens stands out for its powerful character, featuring notes of incense, smoke, and dark fruits. This is a deep, stately wine with a rich texture, concentrated fruit core, and powdery tannins. It requires patience, as after a few years, it reveals a refined elegance and becomes more accessible.

Vinification:

Hand harvested from 45-year-old vines. Traditional vinification. Aged in barrels with 20 to 30% new barrels.

Color:

Bright ruby red with carmine highlights.

Nose:

Subtle dark berry aromas underlined by a light touch of toast.

Palate:

Full-bodied and powerful, with a velvety texture, this wine offers precise, refined Pinot Noir.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Duck tournedos with grapes, Maine farm-raised prime rib with coarse salt, roast wild boar back.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2032.
